Question : Bridge Network Connections

I have a new IBM server that I just put up as my main file server in our office.  It has 2- built in NIcs, 4GB ram and 1.2TB of disk space.  My question is this: I only have 100mb network switches and I would like to increase the performance on this server, is bridging 2 NICs really as easy as just selecting the NICs in the OS and choosing "Bridge Connections"?  Is this worth doing?  What are the downsides to bridging?

Answer : Bridge Network Connections

A network bridge joins 2 subnets - it will not improve performace.
You can team the NICs - if you have the necessary drivers, but this will not increase performance much either - its more of a failover precaution.

In short having multiple NICs will not increase the preformace much whatever you do as on an ethernet network only one NIC can send data at any one time.
