Question : Replacing old windows 2000 DC server with WIndows 2008 R2
I have an Windows 2000 server SP4 still in production, with Exchange 2003 running on a separate boxes. We purchased two new 2008 R2 servers, I have run all the prep work on the 2000 box without error but I’m unable to run dcpromo on the 2008 box without the error saying it couldn’t make the 2008 box a DC, is this even possible or do I need to upgrade the 2000 box to 2003(their much disk space on that box) or can I add a second domain for example the 2000 DC is called abc.com , could I create a second one within the same network and call it abcdef.com.
