Question : how to configure my SMTP server for outgoing verizon

Hey expert, I have verizon triple play with Fios.
I'm using windows live mail and recently ( two month ago) I 'm unable to send email out, the SMTP configuration seems to have changed and there is no way to find out what are the correct parametters.
whenever I try to send a message out I have the erros messages below:

Délai d'attente dépassé lors de la communication avec le serveur.

Serveur : 'outgoing.verizon.net'

Port : 25

FIOS is, of course, a Verizon service. 'outgoing.verizon.net' is the correct SMTP server address. However, they've shut down port 25 for all addresses other than something with "@verizon.net" (as an antispam measure, as alanhardisty suggested). So if you're using a different domain name in your email address, you need to switch to port 587.
