Question : Newbie question: Using Access 2003 to access MS SQL server db
|
|
Question:
Hi! I have read access only to an external database on MS SQL server. Now, I want to use MS access (I think) to get data (through querying the SQL server database). What is the easiest way to do this? I have almost, never used access, but I do know a little about sql and relational databases (and I am too lazy for a course or to read the manual, for now at least). Would be vere grateful for any help on where to start.
Thanks Dave

There is something odd going on if you can create an ODBC through Access:
And being able to save a query has nothing to do with an ODBC.
Are you sure you have, a) rights to create an ODBC; and b) the correct name of the SQL server?
