Question : Client laptops slow boot up, stuck on applying computer settings for a few minutes

Hello Experts,

I think I've had this problem for sometime but now it seems to be more noticable. Users are experiencing the infamous slow boot process getting stuck on network connections and applying computer settings for several minutes. When we unplug it from the network, it boots up just fine. I tried moving a testing laptop to an OU that has no GPOs applied to it and still very slow boot up. I checked DNS and everything seems fine. They are getting the correct DNS IP addresses. I have tried different IDF's in my network thinking it may be a switch issue. Still  the same issue..

This happens weather it's connected via LAN line or wireless. We have bonded authentication where client laptops authenticate to the controller at boot up and recieve an IP address if the certs match on the client and IAS. I tried disabling the wirelss and only being wired to the LAN and still same results.

I don't know what else to try! Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks

Answer : Client laptops slow boot up, stuck on applying computer settings for a few minutes

Thanks you to everyone who posted a possible solution. I narrowed it down to of course a DNS issue. I basically went through all my DNS settings and made sure everything was correctly configured and did see a few things misconfigured. Freakn' DNS .. :)

Thanks again!
