Question : Access Database Will Not Open - Error "Not a Valid Bookmark"

When I try to open this Access database I receive an error message, "Not a Valid Bookmark" and the database stops opening.  I have tried Compact and Repair and get the same error message. I created a new db and tried to import from the corrupt db and got the same message and no import.  I tried accessing the db using Excel and MS Query and got the same message.

I restored the previous days backup so we're back in business, but now I'm just curious.  Is there a way to recover the data and any quess what happened?

The database is only about 8MBs in size.  I compact it weekly.  It is used by all 10 employees to track their time and prepare billing statements.

The database file is stored on a SBS 2003 server and accessed by each user from their computers using Office 2003.  One user is using Office 2007.

Thanks,

Well, I would at this point suggest a repair service:

http://www.vb123.com/fixaccess/     ' Recommend you try this first.

http://www.everythingaccess.com/accessdatabaserepair.htm  ' Included an MDE to MDB service
