Question : Excel chart

Is there away to make a text box on a chart linked to a particular cell.  For example, on the chart I want to display an average that will update everyday based on a cell that has the formula for the average.  I don't want the average to be another line on the chart- just a text box.  

Is that possible?

Answer : Excel chart

Hi dddw,

with the chart selected, insert a Text Box from the drawing toolbar or from the Chart Tools Layout ribbon in XL07 and later.
With the text box selected, click into the formula bar, enter a = sign and click the cell with the text you would like to appear in the text box. Whenever the contents of that cell is changed, the text box on the chart will also update.
