Question : Convert MTS to an AVI that works in Power Point 2003

I know this sounds easy and there are a ton of MTS to AVI converters out there, but no matter what one I use I can never find the right codec or setup to get it to import into a PowerPoint 2003 presentation and work on most computers. Does anyone have an ideas on the best way to format a video so it can be embedded in a PowerPoint presentation with out needing VLC viewer or an external player to launch?!?

Answer : Convert MTS to an AVI that works in Power Point 2003

First of all, media can't be embedded in a PPT 2003 file -- it's actually linked, even though it plays on the slide.

AVIs using the Indeo codecs are usually a good bet. WMV is an even better bet, if you can find a converter that does MTS to WMV. I don't know if Plays for Certain will convert MTS or not, but it's where I'd start. There's a free, fully working trial download at http://www.playsforcertain.com
