Question : Foxpro 2.6a for Windows under XP Virtual Machine
I have an old application running under Foxpro for Windows ver. 2.6a. It has worked reliably for years on Windows XP. We recently upgraded the workstations to new hardware and also the O/S is now a mix of Vista and Windows 7. The application now frequently has problems as follows:
1. Very slow under Vista, with occasional crashes.
2. Put Virtual Machine on stations and using XP, which seemed to work for a couple of days, but now the application just ungraciously quits, no error message, just disappears off of the screen.
3. Sometimes I get a Delayed File Write error.
I believe that I can fix all of the problems by running under Foxpro 9.0 (is this true), but due to time pressure hope somebody with previous experience may be able to suggest other workarounds that might alleviate these issues.
Answer : Foxpro 2.6a for Windows under XP Virtual Machine
Thank you all for your responses.
Due to time pressure, I've opted to move to VFP9. Initial testing suggests that it is working, but I'll see when multiple users put some stress on the system.
