Question : Lost user password on Vista Home Basic notebook. chntpw
Home Basic, so no Administrator account that someone might have left with blank password.
Have a passwork deleter, chntpw, which blanks the Administrator password. Not new version. From 2005.
I have these questions:
(1) will chntpw harm Vista
(2) will chntpw blank a user password on Vista Home Basic machine.
(3) If (1) is yes or (2) is no, is / are there other tools (or techniques) to get into this machine.
It has only the one user account and the password she has (and I've tried dozens of variations now) no longer works.
Thanks as always, Ron Hicks, Arlington VA

I personally prefer the second item.
not too sure about chntpw
probably only works with nt an NT based OS.
