Question : Trying to reconnect a deleted exchange mailbox into an existing user account
Running exchange server 2003. I deleted a user per request of there boss. the boss then realized that they need some data out of the deleted users email. So I went into exchange system manager and drilled down to users exchange mailboxs. I located the deleted account and right clicked and selected reconnect and it comes up with the AD interface to select a user. The issue is it wont find any users on our network. It does show our domain and all of the groups but when I try and drill to a users or enter the name of the user and check names it wont locate any user on our domain. Any ideas on what to try?
Answer : Trying to reconnect a deleted exchange mailbox into an existing user account
You can only reconnect to accounts that are not mail enabled. Therefore you will need to create a new user that is not mail enabled, and then reconnect to that.
