How do I extract rules from a backed-up pst file?

Answer : How to get the rules out of a pst file

As far as I am aware (but it may be possible) you are unable to 'extract' the rules. In fact, i'm not entirely sure they are backed up with the PST. I thought you had to do this manually.

If it is possible, a workaround for this would be to reinstate the backed up PST into an empty Outlook or into current profile and complete the following:

Choose  Tools > Rules Wizard > Options
Options dialog box > Export Rules > file location and the reverse to import them (you will need to verify these rules after import)
