Question : Password protect INBOX in Outlook
|
|
Hello everybody. I checked the previously asked questions and I didn't see this question topic there.......so I'll give this a try.
Our receptionist wants to password protect her INBOX folder in Outlook. When she goes on break or to lunch, she doesn't want the person who is sitting in to be able to read her personal e-mail. But she has to leave her computer on for other reasons. Right now.......she loggs off OUTLOOK when she steps away........but is there a way she can just minimize OUTLOOK and it'll ask for a password to gain access to the INBOX?
Thanks in advance.

Hi GregC,
sorry to say but that is not possible, the way it is done now is probably the most convenient way some other solutions but still not in one outlook session
To add a password to your PST file (which will cause Outlook to prompt for a password when starting) try the following (depending on Outlook version):
Corporate Mode: http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q180/0/42.asp
IMO [Internet Mail Only] Mode: http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q180/0/43.asp
