Question : Install, boot Vista errors

Hi. I have a Dell M2010, with two hard drives. The computer came with XP Pro on one, and I purchased Vista Ultimate to put on another. I have been using a dual-boot system with no problems for two months. This week, I plugged my phone into the computer while in Vista, and nightmares began. The computer froze, I was never able to boot again into Vista, and XP became so slow as to be unusable. I have reinstalled XP after formatting, and am trying to reinstall Vista on the 2d drive. I am now getting a "smart event" message on the 2d hard drive, and when trying to install Vista, am getting various "STOP" AND "DRIVER_IRQL" errors. If I don't get a BSOD, I get a message, "cannot install the required files", with 0x8007048F. Please help. Thanks!

Answer : Install, boot Vista errors

The smart event indicates a hard drive problem  on drive 2. See if Dell will send you another. does your reinstalation of xp run ok now?
