Question : Exchange 2007 Public Folder Replication

Hi

We have been running two Exchange 2007 servers on seperate sites for 18 months and we have now gone down to one site (this actually happened some months ago).

All mailboxes were moved from Exchange server 1 to Exchange server 2 successfully, and all Public Folders were working on Exchange Server 2 okay.

The two sites are connected via an ADSL VPN.

However I have now turned off Exchange Server 1 on the old site as it is no longer being used, or so I thought.  Now when people go into Public folders it is extremely slow to access them, it takes about 90 seconds to display the contents of the folder.

I have checked the replication on each public folder and they are all set to reside only on 1 Exchange server (Exchange Server 2).  In the past the public folders resided on both Exchange servers, but I removed  Exchange Server 1 from the replication list of each Public Folder before I turned Exchange Server 1 off.

I assume that the slowness comes from Outlook attempting to connect to the Public Folders on Exchange Server 1, how would I stop this from happening?

Many thanks
Paul

Answer : Exchange 2007 Public Folder Replication

Look how you calculate Physical RAM for a server is 2GB for Mailbox and about 1GB each for HUB and CAS .. and an additional 5MB for each mailbox so it would be somewhat like 8GB (better if you can add some Physical RAM to the server).

in EMC go to the properties of the Mailbox Database and check which PF store it points to if the old server change that to point to the new one
