Question : SBS2008 Migration Failed - Or so it says!

Hi All,
I am in the middle of performing a migration from SBS 2003 to SBS 2008 on new hardware.

I have got the SBS 2003 to the required level of SP's for all the requirements and have run the Migration tool on the source and configured my xml file for the destination.

I have booted my SBS 2008 machine from Smart Start and configured the installation for SBS 2008, all seemed to go well until I received a replication error right at the end, I kept clicking wait and eventually the server seemed to restart and finish the installation.

However after this restart the server reported that "the installation of small business server 2008 cannot finish" the problems and solutions centre reported a number of driver problems during installation most noteably the 2 NIC ports.  Bizarly they seemed to be working?!?

Anyway I figured open the SBS Console which I did and then received an error "the windows sbs console feature is not setup correctly".

I am at a loss, this is the first migration I have done that has failed so have never had to trouble shoot it before.

Is there anyway to finish the installation or is it a DCPROMO and start again?
The SBS 2008 box is a DC it appears to be replicating, it does however look as though the exchange portion of the installation did not complete.

Any ideas on where to look and how to fix this?

Answer : SBS2008 Migration Failed - Or so it says!

Start --> NCPA.CPL

Check the status on both NICs.

One will have your assigned IP for the server and such. What does the second one have or is it disabled?

Also, check Windows Update on your SBS 2008 to see if any updates were applied. If they were, then:

OR step 20 under the SBS 2003 Prep Phase:
