Question : Unable to change the size of the page file
Hello. I have a few Dell OptiPlex GX620 Mini-Towers that I have upgraded to 4GB of RAM. These machines are running Win XP Pro SP2. I cannot change the Virtual Memory. I receive the following message: System Control Panel Applet, Enter a maximum page file size that is greater than or equal to the initial page file size, and less than 4096MB.
There is specific software that these machine use that recommends increasing the Virtual Memory to 3 times the size of RAM.
I do have other OptiPlex GX620 Mini-Towers in which I was able to increase the Virtual Memory.
Does anyone know what's going on with these machines?
Answer : Unable to change the size of the page file
I noticed that you mentioned 3x which means you must know the general rule of thumb for page file is 1.5x. I just wanted to reiterate, just in case you may have missed it.
