Question : Windows cannot read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted, or it could be using a format that is not compatible with Windows.

I get the above error message whenever I try to play a cd with my CDR/DVD Combi TEAC DW-224E.

It happens in Safe Mode as well.

I've tried numerous CD's and all with the same results.

The computer is a Toshiba 2410 Satellite Laptop.

Suggestions?

Answer : Windows cannot read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted, or it could be using a format that is not compatible with Windows.

Then there is a defect in the drive itself. Something may have happened to the circuitry that controls the part for reading CD's.
