Question : Corrupt Excel file - unable to recover from all machines
I am having a similar problem to that which was described in http://www.experts-exchange.com/Software/Office_Productivity/Office_Suites/MS_Office/Excel/Q_21191475.html, but with one major difference. The file was created in Excel 2003 and was fine for several days and then the following error was received: Errors were detected in 'file name' but Microsoft Office Excel was able to open the file by making the repairs listed below. Save the file to make these repairs permanent. (Then within the box below, the following 'repairs' were listed) Damage to the file was so extensive that repairs were not possible. Excel attempted to recover your formulas and values, but some data may have been lost or corrupted. This error appears from multiple machines running Excel 2003 and Excel 2007. It appears when the file is on a network drive or a local drive. I am about to try the macro listed in the earlier problem, but our symptoms appear to be somewhat different, so I was not sure if this was the same problem. Unfortunately, I cannot post the actual file due to sensitive forecast information.

It is quite possible that the data in your file is not recoverable - that can happen with corrupt workbooks. Do you have a copy of OpenOffice that you could try and open it with? (it's a free, albeit large, download).
