Question : can ping websites but cannot browse

windows vista home prem., can ping by host name and ip address but cannot browse the internet. Tried most suggested solutions on google but got nowhere. I get the page cannot be displayed message.

Answer : can ping websites but cannot browse

just uncheck the update now, or download updates now on the spybot installer  it'll install without a connection.
