Question : browstat on 2008 DC with computer browser service:  Unable to Retrieve server list error 1130

I am troubleshooting websense issues and this led me down the path to computer browsers.  I had to enable the computer browser service on my PDC emulator which is running 2008 Server x64.  If I run browstat I get the following results:

Status for domain (DOMAIN) on transport \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{F7C1E289-D789-4543-
A2AC-C2E5AB05F5BA}
    Browsing is active on domain.
    Master browser name is: VM-DC-1
        Master browser is running build 6002
    2 backup servers retrieved from master VM-DC-1
        \\MIL-EXCH

    Unable to retrieve server list from VM-DC-1: 1130

If I run browstat on my two 2003 servers that run as backup browsers I intermittantly get different error messages each time I run the command browstat status:

Status for domain (DOMAIN) on transport \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{659BB1C2-0565-4B7A-

    Master name cannot be determined from GetAdapterStatus.  Using \\VM-DC-1
        Master browser is running build 6002

7517E-44C1-4683-B1DB-65A1367B4060}

And when running browstat from my workstation I get this:

Status for domain (DOMAIN) on transport \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{C3D54BFA-9106-4AAE-
BF6B-A9FB49040F20}
    Browsing is active on domain.

    There are 2 domains in domain MOSHERCO on transport \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{C3D

I've been tearing my hair out trying to figure this out and I am no closer to a solution.  Our websense is acting flakey and I think this might be the root cause.

Answer : browstat on 2008 DC with computer browser service:  Unable to Retrieve server list error 1130

you might have to flush the WINS cache records. To do do, go to the command prompt and type:

nbtstat -r
and
nbtstat -rr

It still appears like you are having a conflict for the master browser service. So, take control with the 2008 server. Then, type NBTSTAT -r and -rr to see if that lets go of the browser services on the 2003 dc.
