Question : Windows Server 2003
I have a server with Windows Server 2003 running on a raid 1 pair of drives. One of the drives developed errors and the directory services are hosed and I cannot recover them. I have run the raid diagnostics and fixed the bad sectors, but I cannot get the OS to boot in any mode. I have tried everything on the microsoft web site. I think I need to reload the OS. I have a complete backup of the C drive using windows backup, but I can't get the OS to get past the directory services error so I can access it an use it to do a restore. Any suggestions? Can I get assistance in reloading the OS from scratch?
Answer : Windows Server 2003
@jgpd
The links is largly irrelevant - with only one DC the type of restore does not make any difference whatsoever. Apart from that link you simply repeated what had already been said in my posts 26115939 and 26116125
