Question : Installing Windows XP on a laptop with Vista

I have an Acer laptop that has Vista on it.  I would like to install Windows XP on it instead. I know you can't 'downgrade' but  what are the steps to wipe out Vista and install XP?  I don't have a start up disk of any kind.  Thanks in advance

I believe the Acer BIOS is enter by pressing the F10 key during the boot up sequence?  You are able to access the BIOS?  If you can access the BIOS you need to look for a menu in the BIOS that has the boot sequence.  I have never heard of BIOS where you cannot make the DVD/CD drive the first logical boot device.  If you can find the boot sequence menu in the BIOS highlight the first boot device and press the space bar and see if that changes the position of the device in the boot sequence.  Computer BIOS very often do not use common key entries....read the bottom of the BIOS screen for help.  Sorry I do not have an ACER here at my shop to test this with....but I know you should be able to change the boot sequence in the BIOS
