Question : Acess 2.0 permission problems and upgrading to Access 2003
I have a program that was created back 1994 using Access 2.0. I am really familiar with the program and all it's quirks but this new one has me perplexed. The program has a front end, Compass.MDB and a back-end Data.mdb. It uses a System.mda file for security. Administrator was created in the Data.mdb and the system.mda. A function in the program does the actual creation and setting password in the System.MDA file. Well someone, not me, deleted the administrator account and no one else has administrator rights. Now no one can use the program. I can use the generic login and password (Admin, Compass) but that won't allow the program to open at all. (But I can view the data if I open just the Data.mdb) Is there a way to view the system.mda file or convert it. Once that is done we will be converting the program to Access 2003 and using a whole new security feature, but till I get this resolved I can't move on. Please help.
