Question : Hide Actions menu in SharePoint library
I need a group of students to be able to upload to a document library, but not to be able to delete items, plus I would like to hide the Actions menu from them completely. I have created a custom permission level, but cannot seem to find one that makes the Actions menu inaccessible to the group.
I want the site owner to be able to create his own libraries, so I'm hoping to find a way to do this using a permission level so that subsequently created libraries will inherit the setting. Any suggestions?
Answer : Hide Actions menu in SharePoint library
yeh thats kind of the drawback, that as you add permissions the users get a little more juice. I think its liveavble since it meets your needs and the only actions they get, the have anyway.
