Question : cannot apply default email address policy
|
|
Hello all:
This setup is in a test network, testing out exchange 2007. Basically, my internal domain is 12345.local, while the internet name is 12345.com. So i got exchange 2007 running within minutes. But when i sent a test email to yahoo, it says the email address for a reply is [email protected]
So i sent a email from yahoo to my email server, [email protected], and it came in fine. So i look to the mailbox properties and see that 12345.local is the default smtp, while 12345.com is the secondary. Tried to set the .com address to default, no go. Got this message: -------------------------------------------------------- Microsoft Exchange Error -------------------------------------------------------- The following error(s) occurred while saving changes:
set-mailbox Failed Error: The Exchange server address list service failed to respond. This could be because of an address list or email address policy configuration error.
So, i go to the email address policy configuration. Default Policy is there, click next a couple times then come to the dialog to change the default address. Great, i see %[email protected] , i set it to "set as reply". click next then edit. then i get this error:
Summary: 2 item(s). 0 succeeded, 1 failed. Elapsed time: 00:00:00
Edit Default Policy Failed
Error: The operation cannot be completed on the default e-mail address policy.
Exchange Management Shell command attempted: set-EmailAddressPolicy -Instance 'Default Policy'
Elapsed Time: 00:00:00
Apply Default Policy Cancelled
Not much to go off of.
Anyone ever come accross this?
