Question : Time required to take a 2005 DB off-line

Why does it take a long time to take a MS SQL-2005 DB off-Line?
Any reference to the Microsoft posting/document would be helpful

Answer : Time required to take a 2005 DB off-line

Connections to the db are being closed. If you put the db in single user mode first and then take it offline, the offline step will be faster.
