Question : Access 2003 DB: Too many active users

I have a Access 2k3 DB with the "Front End" and "Back End" all in one File. All users access the file across the network using a UNC path and get the error: "too many active users". Everything worked fine for about 3 months, a total of about 10 users access it throughout the day, never all 10 at the same time. The DB is on a Windows 2K3 server.

Any ideas what my problem may be? Break it down Barnet style for me, I'm no Access or DB guru.

Thanks.

Answer : Access 2003 DB: Too many active users

I would try this....

Make sure everyone is out and then see if the ldb file still exists within the backend directory.  If so, it may be causing the problem.  Since no one is in the database, it shouldn't exist.  Delete the file.

Sometimes if connections to an Access database aren't closed correctly, the ldb file can fill up and cause this problem.
