Question : Multiple choices when filtering column

Hello Gurus,

I am trying to make a simple sharepoint page with a list. I have the list ready and i wanted to know if the columns can be filtered by more than one criteria.

Say one of the columns is City, so if you click on the column filter option you get a drop down of all the filter options on that column. Now what if I want to filter the column by more than one city. In sharepoint i can only select one city...is it possible to setup the list such that more than one option can be picked to filter the list?

as far as i can tell this is only possible by creating new views
