Question : SQL Server Licensing uestion
I understand there are two types of licensing. The CPU and CAL.
With the first one it doesn't matter how many computers will be clients to the server, but in the secont wuth buy a license for all the clients.
Let's say I don't use a WEB application, but a Windows app, that has a server and for example 50 clients. And all the clients have local DBes. What happens then? I buy 51 licenses? Considering one licens is 6000$ thats unthinkable. Explain pls.
Answer : SQL Server Licensing uestion
>>So tell me do I have to pay 51 licenses?<<
In your scenario, if you are going to install SQL Server on each box than the answer is yes.
