Question : Flex: properties of components at runtime

If I have a Numeric-Stepper control, I can change the background color at design-time in the xml declaration.  But, If I reference the control in a function, the smart-syntax does not show the background color as an property ?

Am I looking in the wrong place ?

You could of course define one or more specific styles in css which you can reuse throughout your app.
