Question : Windows 7 XP Mode will not read DVD+R disk

When I install XP mode on my Dell D520 laptop, the virtual XP device manager sees my internal DVD+RW optical drive as a CD/DVD-ROM drive. It won't read the DVD+R disks burned from the physical machine (says the disk structure is corrupted and unreadable)..
The Dell site does not have XP drivers for this drive, and I assume that it figures that the OS has all that is necessary. I tried adding an external USB DVD-RW drive, but it didn't see that at all. Suggestions?

Answer : Windows 7 XP Mode will not read DVD+R disk

What kind of DVD-R is it...  (a movie, a data disk, etc)?    If it's a movie, does a "store bought" disk do the same thing?

I wouldn't think you'd need any additional XP drivers for this device (since its hardware is emulated via the Virtual PC software).
