Question : What does the error message mean that says that a name conflicts with a valid range reference?

I imported workbook created in Excel 2002 and then saved as a xlsx file.
A message comes up "The name, UE250, either conflicts with a valid range reference or is invalid for Excel. The name has been replaced with _UE250.

What does this mean?

Answer : What does the error message mean that says that a name conflicts with a valid range reference?

More specifically, UE250 is not a valid cell reference in Excel 2003 and earlier because the last column in those versions is IV. In Excel 2007 the last column is XFD which means that UE is a valid column reference in that version and hence cannot be used as a range name.
