Question : VPN Connection Problem
Here's the situation:
I have a Server 2003 machine with a static ip of 192.168.0.8. It is currently configured via the Routing / Remote Access wizard to accept VPN connections.
On the router, I have port 1723 forwarded to 192.168.0.8.
When I try to connect to my external IP as the address of the VPN client (just windows client), I enter my UN/PWD and I get the response:
"Connecting to ***** using WAN Miniport(L2TP)...
Error 800: The remote connection was not made because the attempted VPN tunnels failed. The VPN server might be unreachable. If this connectino is attempting to use an L2TP/IPSEC tunnel, the security paramters required for IPSEC negotiation might not be configured properly."
I can connect to other VPNS with no problem.
Any ideas what might be my problem?
Answer : VPN Connection Problem
Object, the MS VPN would still not work without the GRE port forwarding at the router, which I provided info for.
