Question : Number of folders

When I clicked on a folder with 19 files inside, it says 8 Folders, 19 Files. Why does it say 8 folders.

THere have been other folders inside this folder before.Does windows remember those folders and tell that count? If so, is there a way to flush out those old data?

I think some hidden folders are there to confirm it use following method

Move into windows explorer. To access Windows Explorer, click Start, point to All Programs, and then click Windows Explorer.

To see hidden files:

1.On the Tools menu in Windows Explorer, click Folder Options.

2.Click the View tab.

3.Under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and folders.
