Question : Hyperv server or virtual server setup

what i need to know is which version i need to use hyperV server or windows server 2008 with hyperv? or if there is a different option i should use? now basically what i want to do is setup a server that is not connected to any domain its self and manage & create approx 2-4 virtual servers on it all connected to same domain? so if anyone could help me as to which one is the right one for what i need or if i should use something else the main fact is that i dont want to have to manage it from another machine or have to connect it to a domain.

You can use whatever you want.  Virtualization does not require domain membership.  You can use HyperV (downloaded from Microsoft) or you can use HyperV that comes with server 2008 or 2008 R2.  Don't know who or what lead you to believe it had to be a part of a domain?
