Question : Corupt Registry on 2000 adv server

my registry is corupt on my 2000 adv server. when it boots normal it blue screens.

steps taken so far.
- try to reboot to "last known good" - blue screen
- reboot to safe mode- able to login and save date
- booted with 2000 server cd, to repair console - not able to find instructions to repair registry
- downloaded file chkreg.exe - not able to find instructions on how to use
- also have a copy of Winternals erd 2007 if that helps?

any ideas?
