Question : Software Restriction Policy for XP GPMC
I am trying to create a hash rule for the XP GPMC in SRP. The policy never seems to work though (though I can see it being applied in RSOP and gpresult). I create a hash rule for several other programs and they all worked perfectly. Is there any special thing about using software restrictions with MSCs? How can I prevent the XP GPMC from running but allow the Windows 7/Vista GPMC to run?
Answer : Software Restriction Policy for XP GPMC
To fix this, I used file security restrictions with an XP WMI filter.
