Question : Strategy for Interpreting Questionnaire Responses on Report

Hello ~

I'd like to collaborate on the best strategy for interpreting questionnaire responses on a report.  The questionnaire has 8 types of response sets, the response set used depends on the question number.  And the response determines the "interpreted answer". For instance:

Type 1 (Questions 2, 4, 9)
                            V.............Interpreted Answer
   Response 1 = "A"
   Response 2 = "B"
   Response 3 = "C"

Type 2 (Questions 3, 7, 12)
                            V.............Interpreted Answer
   Response 1 = "Q"
   Response 2 = "R"
   Response 3 = "S"

I realize I can store the question numbers, responses and their interpreted answers in a table and write a dlookup function for the interpreted answer based on the question number and the response.  I'd like to know if someone can see a better (more efficient, simpler) way.  I'm open to ideas.

I appreciate your thoughts.

Best Regards, Jacob
