Question : Vista Boot Error

I started up my computer this morning and got the error that ntldr is missing.

I have tried to recover the OS using the Vista DVD.   Originally the OS did not show up,  I tried to have Vista Recovery fix it but it looks like it assigned my hard drive the wrong drive letter.

In the recovery console, I can see the drive that contains the Vista OS on it but it is somehow assigned the D: drive - it used to be C:

I copied all my data off the computer via command line (Users directory) now i need to try to recover the OS if possible.   I would rather not reinstall the OS.   I will install Win 7 if it comes to that.

My DVD/CD is showing up as C:

Is there any way via the recovery console to change the drive letter assignment so that my hard drive shows up as C:?

Thanks in Advance Experts!
