Question : Windows 2008 R2 Upgrade on SQL 2008 Cluster

I have a cluster of two Windows 2008 Enterprise servers (SP2) and want to add a third host.  The third host has Windows 2008 R2 installed and I wondered what would be the best approach to upgrading the other two.  Can I move the two instances to one host in the current cluster, upgrade the one that is free, then move them back, upgrade the other, then join the new server to the cluster?

I also wonder if a difference in hardware will matter.  The current cluster consists of two Dell 1950s connected to NetApp storage, the new server is on a Dell 2950.  Am I looking at trouble mixing hardware?

Answer : Windows 2008 R2 Upgrade on SQL 2008 Cluster
