Question : Erased C:\\Inetpub\wwwroot
|
|
I have installed Windows 2000 Professional Edition at my computer. I know that C:\Inetpub\wwwroot simulates a webserver root which can host ASP pages and display them directly at Internet Explorer without uploading oages to the webserver and then view them by Internet. Unfortunately, this directory was erased. I want to restore this directory including all its features. How can I do to solve my problem? Thank you.

Does IIS still run? If it doesn't you'll need to reinstall. You can specify if you want your directory pointing to c:\inetpub\wwwroot or you can specify it into another location.
If IIS runs then you need to go into MMC and select properties from the web site and specify the default home directory.
Not sure if I totally understand question with the ASP stuff. But if you have trouble viewing ASP pages then you must set up your web server with an ASP Isapi filter.
