Question : Exchange 2007 - "Choose Form" Delayed

I have a fairly new exchange 2007 server.   We replaced an older 2003.  Both are still in place.  Users are experiencing a delay when using outlook and going to the Tools -Forms-Select Form menu option.  They receive an Error "The connection to the exchange server is unavailable" but their outlook stays online and they are then able to browse to the forms they need.    I'm wondering if it may be pointing to the old CAS server and then when it times out it allows the users to browse to the forms they need.   Any suggestions or ideas where this configuration would be?
