Question : How do you move controls in a Word 2007 template?

I have created a template in Word 2007.
I have added controls (checkbox and dropdown combo) to the template but they appear to 'snap' out of line from the text.
I want to be able to move them to any point on the template, but I can't move them anywhere.
I've tried holding Alt and I've tried holding Ctrl and moving them without success.
Any ideas?

You can format ActiveX controls away from In Line with Text via the Text Wrapping button in the Arrange group in the Page Layout tab. Then they can be dragged around independently of the text. Otherwise, they must take a place in the text line.

The visible controls in the Controls group are Content controls. To insert any of the other two types, use the yellow button in the lower row to the right of the centre line.
