Question : Discontinuing security updates for Windows 2000 and XP?

On what day, month, and year will Microsoft stop providing security updates for Windows XP Pro and Windows XP Pro?

I contacted Microsofts licensing department and they referred me to their website telling me support ends exactly two years after the last service pack release, which would have meant that Windows 2000 Pro would already have not been getting security updates for quite some time, but I just received the below security release notification from Microsoft that they have a new patch for Windows 2000 Pro that was released on 12/7/2009.  This is what leads me to my above question.

This appears to be the official policy but you can do a google searcha nd find cases of support being extended pretty consistently for older os's.  I suspect on the newer OS's they= are going to stick more closely to this though.
