Question : Virtual Memory Errors

On each of our 4 new HP dc7900 quad-cores, we keep keeping getting error messages of, "Virtual memory is too low.  Windows is increasing your virtual memory."

The system freezes at this point and you have to hard reboot to get back up and running.  This happens when you leave the computer locked for a few hours, whether a program is running or not.

We've tried moving the page file to another partition, increasing the size to a ridiculous amount (8GB+), letting Windows manage it, using no page file, etc.  Nothing works for more than a day.

We are running Windows XP Pro SP3.  Each of these systems has 4GB RAM.

We installed three updates drivers and patches from HP's support site for the hard drives and RAID controller, but this did not help.

Please advise.  Thank you

Answer : Virtual Memory Errors

You probably have a piece of software that has bad memory leaks which causes this. You can find out which program is causing this and either reinstalling it or patching the software itself or not using it.

You can find the program that is using up VM under the task manager.

A short guide you can follow to help you is at:

This will show you which program is leaking.
