Question : Can security be applied to a sharepoint view?
|
|
Hello,
I have a docuement library that I am using as an IT knowlege base. I created a column in the library to specify whether the docs were public or admin.
I created two views, one for public and one for admin. They work fine.
What I need is for average users to either not see my admin view, or not be able to access it if they select it.
Is this possible?

Hi,
If you are using WSS2.0 (SPS 2003) in a word - 'No'. Permissions are set for a list - if someone can see the list they can see all views - you cannot set different permissions for a view.
You may be better with two libraries that you control the respective rights to.
