Question : Cannot joining a Windows server 2008 domain from xp computer
We are trying to join a pc with xp on it to a windows 2008 server. We keep receiving the following message: login failure or unknown user or password when joining a domain.
We get the popup box asking for user name and password. We are entering domainName\administrator and the correct admin password.
This is the only server on the network (very small network) the can connect to the internet.
Answer : Cannot joining a Windows server 2008 domain from xp computer
When you are joining a pc to the domain and it asks you for a Username/Password, you do not need to use the domain.com\username just use the username and password. That is unless you are in a multiple domain setup.
