Question : How does one keep from highlighting when a new program is installed

Everytime a new program is installed under All Programs it is shaded. Can this function be disabled?

Hi,

1. Right-click the Start button and then click "Properties" to open the "Taskbar and Start menu Properties" window.

2. Click the "Customize" button to open the "Customize Start Menu" window and then click the "Advanced" tab.

3. Remove the tick in the check-box labelled "Highlight newly installed programs".

4. Click "OK" to save the changes and exit the "Customize Start Menu" window.

5. Click "OK" again to exit the "Taskbar and Start menu Properties" window.
