Question : Exchage Error SPAM question.

Ok I set up a new SBS 2008 server for a client. It has nothing on it for spam or antivirus but today while trying to send an email to one of the coworkers from an outside email I got this error. Does SBS come with some sort of spam filter that I am not aware of?

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

  [email protected]
SMTP error from remote mail server after end of data:
host mail.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.net [xxx.xx.xxx.xxx]: 550 5.7.1 Message rejected as spam by
Content Filtering.

Answer : Exchage Error SPAM question.

For AD and DNS updates to occur, the Macs need to be:
  • A, bound to AD becuase by default, only authenticated devices are allowed to update their own DNS records.
  • B, you could allow anonymous updates, but not sure I would allow this.
On your Macs, make sure that this setting, DHCP client ID is setup so that the Macs can update their records in your AD DNS. See pic...
